March @ THE SHELL and a Special Announcement
What you may have missed, and what you definitely don't want to!
If April showers bring May flowers, what exactly comes from the meteorological seesaw that is March? Punk bands and the anticipation of the backyard? At the Shell, we’re still recovering; still, we’ve got plenty to talk about and even more to look forward to… Is that Louise’s entrance music? Stick around for the answer………………………
On March 21st, we hosted Nail Biter (@naiilbiiter) for the release of their EP ‘Salty’ ((Now Available on Bandcamp!)) It was a ton of fun with a great turn out from a very friendly Brooklyn Punk scene.
Akuro (@akuroseokike) took a break from his Sense Kitchen series to give us a set of his stripped down raps and fusion beats. It was pure hip-hop— an intimately led experience that we can’t wait to have back soon. Check out his EP ‘Her’ from the end of 2024, and keep an ear to the ground for more this year.
Next, a bite of Papas Sin Sal (@papas._sin._sal)… Tight grooves and classic Punk, Papas is noisy and energetic. Head out to Hart Bar ((I freaking love Hart Bar!)) on April 29th to see them play with Nail Biter, Manic Spring, and Gau Ani Galli.
In comes Dressed Like Prince (@dressedlikeprince). They were not, in fact, dressed like the Minnesotan glam rock icon, but it was hard not to dance along watching these guys have so much fun on The Shell stage. Dressed Like Prince sends their regards as they prepare more tunage for the upcoming year!
It’s the main event! Nail Biter rocking out to celebrate the new EP ‘Salty’ with a packed house. Distorted guitars, booming punk vocals, and an ode to the NYPD that goes exactly how you’d expect. It was great having Nail Biter back in the building in 2025. Congrats on the project ((DID WE MENTION YOU SHOULD BUY IT ON BANDCAMP???)) and thanks for celebrating with us :)
Be sure to catch them April 10th @ The Rabbit Hole with Plastic Passion, Hex, and Emma Houton!
